It’s an impossible task to write something new about Prague! It is a truly spectacular city and it deserves all the glory that it gets! The sunsets, the charming streets, fairytale bridges, castles, museums, the one sunrise I caught, the beer and the food, everything is a perfect combination of old and new, classic and modern. If it’s windy and rainy, you can get lost in a wonderful castle or a cool museum. If you’re lucky and the weather is nice, the multitude of terraces and wonderful paths where you can take a nice long walk are always there for you.
I’m sure that you already have a lot of ideas about where to go or what to do, so I’m going to be as brief as possible and just insert a lot of images, because Prague is a very photogenic city!
I suppose that you know about the infamous taxis of Prague (how you can get unlucky and get a not so welcoming driver from the airport), so just so you know, Prague has Uber and it’s pretty ok to get around with it. The drivers are not that great as I found them to be in other parts of Europe, but I bet it’s better than a taxi. We have the same problem with the taxi drivers in Bucharest, that’s why I’m convinced that Uber is better. Although don’t forget to pay attention every time you get in a foreign car!
Must do:
Prague Castle
Go around the Castle on your way back, it’s a light and very enjoyable walk!
Strahov Monastery
It is a must for a book lover! It has the most charming and wonderful library I have ever seen.
Charles Bridge (Karlův most)
From sunup to sundown and after dark, that is the place to go. It is crowded, it is always crazy, but it is spectacular! From super talented street artists to beautiful handmade jewelry, you can find them all there. Even if you make the sacrifice (it is for me) and you get up before sunrise, hoping that you’ll be all alone, you will be highly disappointed. But for a beautiful sunset image, take your tripod and go up the tower. ;)
Viewpoint from LEtna Park
The whole park is a nice place to relax, but the viewpoint is the place to get that cliché photo with the bridges from Prague. And since you’re there, go have a cold one at Letna Beer Garden.
You May add to List:
a tour of The Prague Astronomical Clock
The Dancing House
Dripstone Wall, Wallenstein Palace Gardens
The Lennon Wall
The Memorial to the victims of Communism
To eat&drink
Grand Café Orient - it has a beautiful architecture (look for the stairs) and a mouthwatering selection of desserts.
Café Savoy - they have a wonderful breakfast, but make sure you have a reservation, especially if it’s weekend.
Havelská Koruna - traditional cousine.
Angelato - worth to wait 45 minutes in line for that ice cream!
